I don’t think JetBrains IDE’s ship with one by default, but VS Code has good Light and Dark High Contrast themes to try. ![]() ![]() If your work environment is illuminated so brightly that even a regular light theme is not enough, you could look at a High Contrast theme. I’ve never enjoyed the yellowed look on the Light theme though. It’s apparently designed to be the most suitable for your eyes. The stock JetBrains light and dark themes may be boring and lack vibrant syntax highlighting, but I’m yet to come across anything that’s as legible and easy on the eye-strain for extended periods of time.Īnother very popular theme is Solarized Light/Dark. As far as I can tell, it’s identical to the standard JetBrains light theme except for the slightly different colour and line spacing of the file explorer - the actual text editor is the same. I do find the light theme far easier during the day than any dark theme, even though dark themes are the standard. It comes in both light and dark themes, and I use both depending on time of day/outside light. I use this Atom One theme for PhpStorm and WebStorm. ![]() On IntelliJ I just alternate between the standard IntelliJ light and Dark themes depending on whether it’s day or night.
